Honoring
Bhai Avtar Singh Bhai Gurcharan Singh Ragi
Our
lives are blessed by those rare ones who reveal to us secrets of the treasure
we seek. Bhai Gurcharan Singh and Bhai Avtar Singh have served as guardians
of the map to guide the journey.
Siri Guru Granth Sahib reveals the path of Guru Nanak, a journey toward the
Infinite One. Written in raag, the words are intended to be sung. Bhai Gurcharan
Singh and Bhai Avtar Singh have shared with us the melodies passed down from
the Guru's court and the Gurus' times and have ensured that they will be preserved
so the future generations of seekers will also find the key.
Blessed
with the Word

Sikh
history both ancient and recent has been wrought with challenges that have threatened
the survival of this knowledge. The old past brought wars and conquests from
outside and the upheaval of partition in 1947. The recent past has brought modern
invention, relative comfort and globalization, which challenge the memory of
what has come before. As exponents of the oral tradition, Bhai Gurcharan Singh
and Bhai Avtar Singh have shouldered the unique responsibility of their generation,
the task of carrying the treasure of knowledge into the 21st century.
Through the technology of our time they have published and recorded hundreds
of old compositions and have traveled throughout the world sharing their gifts
with all who will listen. Through the timeless technology of the oral tradition
they have shared the ancient wisdom with the next generation of heirs. Through
the faithful devotion of Bhai Gurcharan Singh and Bhai Avtar Singh the timeless
treasures have been preserved to bless the journey of those yet to come.
